According to Dr. Sethi, the old pillow should be replaced with a new pillow immediately. Because over time, dust particles, sweat, and allergens accumulate on the pillow, which can cause problems like skin rashes. In such a situation, if your pillow is more than 1-2 years old, then it is probably time to replace it.
Many synthetic air fresheners release phthalates and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can cause respiratory problems. A study also found that 86 percent of air fresheners contained phthalates, which are chemicals associated with asthma. In such a situation, instead of using synthetic air fresheners in the bedroom, use an organic fragrance.
Dr. Sethi says that any mattress older than 7 to 10 years can reduce the quality of sleep, which can cause problems like back pain. In such a situation, if your mattress has become so old, then replace it immediately.
